Our Practice
Northern Sydney Colorectal Clinic provides specialist colorectal surgical care across Northern Sydney. Our practice is located in St Leonards – within walking distance to St Leonard’s railway station. Our surgeons also consult in Dee Why and Ryde.
Multi-disciplinary teams
Modern management of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic floor dysfunction requires coordinated care from clinicians and allied health professionals of multiple disciplines. We work closely with colleagues in oncology, radiology, pathology, gastroenterology and gynaecology, as well as with dietitians, stomal therapists, physiotherapists and psychologists to provide optimal care for our patients.

Monitoring outcomes
Our surgeons participate in regular practice audits and morbidity meetings to ensure that optimum standards are maintained. We participate in the BiNational Colorectal Cancer Database, which allows us to benchmark surgical outcomes against other colorectal units across Australia and New Zealand.
Research & Collaboration
Our surgeons are active researchers in many areas related to the practice of colorectal cancer. We maintain a comprehensive database of all our colorectal cancer patients and use this to study outcomes of surgery and other treatments.
We collaborate with colleagues in the departments of anatomical pathology, radiology and gastroenterology both for clinical care via multi-disciplinary team meetings as well as through collaborative research projects.
Currently we are involved in clinical trials in colorectal cancer, innovative treatments for pelvic floor dysfunction and translational research through our collaborations with Sydney Vital and the Kolling Institute for Medical Research.
